Here's the CD drive with its cover popped open, revealing the TAM's unique vertical configuration - which supposedly is what limited the drive to its slow 4x speed.

It works, but isn't particularly lovely when open, or quiet when in operation. And the open cover hinge doesn't feel terribly sturdy, either.
